So. Alts.

You can now have alts around here. It has its own name, its own profile, its own posts.

Click on your avatar/name (top right) and you'll find My alts. Click that, then Create an alt, give them a name, done. If you want spaces or punctuation in the name, fill in the display name box while you're there. The Name field cannot have spaces or special characters; only the Display Name can.

You don't get this straight away. You'll need 25 posts and an account that's at least 21 days old before the option shows up. Nothing to apply for, nobody to ask — it just appears once you're there. You can have up to 10 of them at a time.

Now, actually posting. You pick who you are per post, not by logging in as them. Start a discussion or a reply in an in-character topic and you'll see a Posting as dropdown sitting above the text box. Leave it on Yourself and everything works like it always has. Pick an alt and the post goes out under their name instead.

Alts only work in Shit Posting for now. Everywhere else is just you. Out-of-character topics stay out of character.

A few things you can't do. You can't like, react to, or flag your own alt's posts — your alt doesn't get to agree with you. You can't log in as an alt either; they're masks, not accounts.

And the one that matters: the mods can see which accounts are alts and who they belong to. This is for playing characters, not for hiding behind them. Warnings land on your real account, not on the alt's account. Same rules as always, in other words.

Done with an alt? Hit Retire on the My alts page. Their posts stay exactly where they are — retiring just takes them out of your dropdown. Bring them back whenever you like.

That's it. Go make somebody up.
